Patron: Yes, you must know it. The woman is from a time period, well you know that time period, where they wore those dresses.

In my opinion, the BEST part of VOGUE magazine, is the spread that has a model in front of a neutral backdrop. Why you ask?
It is all about the outfit - the color, the texture, the way it drapes, folds or tucks.
I love Leibovitz’s work TO DEATH, but nothing beats this:
What I learned today..
NEVER EVER buy anything full price at Kohls.
Right before Christmas I saw a Lauren Conrad faux fur shrug. I wanted it.
BUT it was $80.00. I said NO WAY!!!!!
Today I ran into Kohl’s to pick up a quick something, and there, on the 80-90% off rack - THE BLACK SHRUG FOR $20.00!!!!!!!!!
I still didn’t buy it! LOL

I absolutely LOVE the lyrics to Katy Perry’s new song “Firework.” They are so inspiring and the music is pretty catchy too.
But I cannot bring myself to love her since her first single was about “kissing a girl and liking it.”
Seriously? How can you sing about being a slut, for lack of a better word, then sing about empowerment?

Yesterday I parked on the couch and read two books and watched a movie.
I enjoyed this book very much. Gunn is so enjoyable and reminds me a bit of my Dad.
I wish there were more people with his manners and personal rules like ‘taking the high road.’
This is my book club read. It was ok.
I finally watched Porky’s for the first time. It was funny.
Power Loss

While I did not post as much and as often as I vowed to, I am so glad I started my blog.

I just finished THE BOX by Gunter Grass.
I did not particularly care for it. I got wind of the fact that a character was a photographer and there was some nonsense about a magical camera. I was a bit disappointed.

Pain in my hands.
I looked down at my hands today and they look so weathered. And as a bolt of pain struck, for a moment, I saw my 86 year old self looking down at these same hands, only they were old hands. They were wrinkled with visible lumpy green veins. So convex that you can almost see the blood traveling through.

I love how an artist comes up with an idea. They just keep producing, whichever media it may be. Drawing over and over on every page, or shooting rolls upon rolls of film, remaining uninspired until, they are on the brink of insanity. They hit the wall and VOILA! A work of art appears…….
